Snowboarding

Wintergreen Adaptive Sports offers adaptive snowboarding instruction. As with skiing, WAS provides lessons to students with the same wide range of disabilities.

Sit down equipment can be modified to accommodate a snowboard and there are a wide variety of adaptive teaching aids available. A number of the snowboard instructors are AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors) certified.

All lessons include lift ticket, equipment, and private instruction with a minimum of two instructors. We have a staff of over 100 highly trained volunteer instructors. Over two-thirds of these are certified by the Professional Ski Instructors of America or the American Association of Snowboard Instructors.

The Wintergreen Adaptive Sports skiing and snowboarding program makes it possible for anyone to feel the wind in their face and the thrill of a speedy ride down the slopes. Our focus is on safety, fun, and learning, and our goal is for you to attain independence as an adaptive skier or snowboarder. Our snow sports program operates seven days a week from mid-December through mid-March, with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
